About the role
The 4West Medical/Surgical unit at Exeter Hospital is a 20-bed unit with an average daily census of 20 patients. This unit focuses on providing comprehensive care with a strong emphasis on relationship-based patient care, innovation, and continuous learning and skill development.
Responsibilities
- Fulfills basic nursing care tasks under the supervision of a licensed nurse, including but not limited to incentive spirometry, bedside blood glucose testing, non-sterile dressing changes, and oral suctioning.
- Maintains aseptic techniques as needed.
- Performs personal care tasks for patients, ensuring comfort and hygiene.
- Maintains patient records accurately and documents all patient care activities.
- Maintains a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and families, adhering to hospital standards and patient rights.
- Participates in ongoing education and training to enhance professional growth and development.
- Monitors patient conditions and reports any significant changes to the appropriate personnel.
- Determines the proper functioning of medical equipment to ensure patient safety.
- Involves in the development and implementation of the patient care plan.
Requirements
- Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA) certification from the state of New Hampshire.
- CPR certification within 90 days of hire.
