Licensed Mental Health Professional - 1099 Part-Time

About Our Program

Job Corps is the largest nationwide residential career training program in the country and has been operating for more than 60 years. The program helps eligible young people ages 16 through 24 complete their high school education, trains them for meaningful careers, and assists them with obtaining employment. Our program is located at Albuquerque Job Corps, 1500 Indian School Rd NW, Albuquerque, NM 87104.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor the Mental Health Program, including staff development, mental health counseling of students, and TEAP program counseling, according to Job Corps federal regulations and the Policy and Requirements Handbook.
• Provide on-call mental health services for emergencies, 24-hours a day, 7 days a week, either by phone or in person.
• Arrange services on behalf of the center as needed.
• Supervise all mental health interns and employees.
• Advise the Center Director and Health Services staff on all mental health matters.
• Conduct staff development and training in the use of mental health principles and techniques.
• Provide consultation with Health Services staff and other appropriate staff concerning student mental health issues.
• Develop constructive programs for meeting students’ mental health issues and work with center disciplinary, maximum benefits, intergroup relations, and the AODA prevention programs.
• Document and submit forms and correspondence to local, state, and federal agencies to meet all program requirements.
• Issue and maintain Standing Orders on all mental health issues as required by the National Job Corps program.
• Provide evaluation and diagnostic services to inpatient or outpatient students.
• Provide limited psychiatric treatment as permitted by licensure.
• Arrange off-center referrals and treatments as needed according to National Job Corps directives.
• Provide documentation and referrals for students who are recommended for termination from the program.

Requirements

• Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Psychiatrist, Clinical Psychologist, or Psychiatric Social Worker license. Must be licensed in the state of New Mexico.
• Experience working with disadvantaged youth; Job Corps experience preferred.
• Knowledge of mental health issues of disadvantaged youth.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, and government regulations.
• 1 year of experience as a licensed independent practitioner providing assessment and treatment services to adolescents and young adults.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record preferred.
• Required to pass a drug screen in compliance with our Substance Abuse and Drug-Free Workplace policy.
• Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a nationwide criminal background check.

Hourly Range: $80.00 to $82.00
