Licensed Mental Health Counselor

About the role

The Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) will provide behavioral health services for pediatric patients and families in the Syracuse City School District Behavioral Health Program (SCSD). This position works collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team to offer comprehensive psycho-social management and support to patients and families, including behavioral health consultation, assessment, and therapy services for at-risk patients. The LMHC will coordinate with staff on referrals to meet the psycho-social needs of patients and families.

Responsibilities

• Provide behavioral health consultation, assessment, and therapy services to pediatric patients and families.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive psycho-social management and support.
• Coordinate referrals to address the psycho-social needs of patients and families.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school with a Master's degree or higher in a relevant field.
• Current (or eligible) New York State licensed Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC).
• Three years of post-licensure experience providing therapy for children and families.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience as an LMHC in an ambulatory setting.
