Evaluations and Therapeutic Interventions

Evaluates and provides therapeutic interventions for adults diagnosed with severe and persistent mental illnesses and substance use. Assessments performed with complete formulation, differential diagnosis, treatment, and safety planning.

Therapy and Group Services

Provides individual therapy and group services rooted in evidenced-based practice. Works as a member of a multidisciplinary treatment team and practices client-centered and holistic care.

Documentation and Compliance

Maintains appropriate and timely documentation of clinical services and related clinical contacts in accordance with OASAS and OMH regulations and organizational expectations. Performs clinical, compliance, and administrative duties as instructed.

Professional Development

Aid in the development of Evidence-Based Practices Group Curriculums in collaboration with the team. Assist in the creation or enhancement of group curriculums for new or upcoming group cycles. Attend professional meetings, educational conferences, and workshops to maintain and improve professional competence.

Supervision and Training

Provide clinical/task supervision. Conduct seminars and training for other clinical staff on various mental health diagnoses. Facilitate interdisciplinary treatment teams and case conferences to determine client care and treatment planning.

Crisis Intervention

Provides crisis intervention on an as-needed basis.

Requirements

  • 3+ years previous relevant experience in Mental or Behavioral Health environment required.
  • Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling or an equivalent related field required.
  • Current and unrestricted Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) - NYS Licensure required.
  • Must obtain Mandated reporter (2 hours) within thirty (30) days.
