Licensed Irrigation Technician

Requirements

  • Irrigation Specialist technician’s license
  • Valid driver’s license in good standing with an issue date at least five years prior to application
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in irrigation, including at least 1 year with an irrigation license
  • General knowledge of sprinkler system maintenance and repairs, including piping and connection techniques
  • Familiarity with all types of sprinkler controllers and ability to set them up efficiently
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to prioritize workload, work under pressure, and maintain composure
  • Desired experience working with routes, service stops, and meeting deadlines
  • Dependable, self-motivated, and willing to work year-round
  • Ability to use electronic tablets/phones, email, and text messaging
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors for extended periods, including in extreme temperatures

Candidates must pass a 5–7 year motor vehicle report review and meet commercial auto insurance requirements, including a minimum of five consecutive years of verifiable good driving history. Any DWI/DUI within the past four years may impact eligibility.

About the role

As ABC’s Irrigation Technician, you will deliver excellence in customer service while performing high-quality maintenance, service, repairs, and replacements on sprinkler systems for residential and commercial customers.

Responsibilities

  • Connect pipes using specified glue and primer to ensure leak-proof fittings up to 2” in underground sprinkler systems
  • Excavate sprinkler heads and pipes for repair, then clean and clear the work area after job completion
  • Rebuild and replace damaged valves, solenoids, and flush ports; read and understand diagrams
  • Answer basic client questions about their system and train customers on controller use as needed
  • Provide simple estimates
  • Maintain awareness of current water ordinances and restrictions; perform basic multimeter processes
  • Maintain a professional attitude with customers, coworkers, and supervisors

Pay

Commission plus bonuses; potential to earn $50,000 or more.

Schedule

Monday through Friday, with occasional after-hours and/or Saturday work as needed. Hours vary based on job completion.
