About the Role

Under the general supervision of the Clinical Director/Unit Chief, provides comprehensive clinical services as part of a multi-disciplinary team. This includes the evaluation and treatment of patients presenting with a wide range of psychiatric and physical/environmental stressors using a full range of psychiatric therapeutic interventions, such as evaluations, individual, family, and group psychotherapy.

Reports to the Clinical Director of Social Work and Counseling regarding professional standards, regulatory and licensing requirements, credentials/privileges, and continuing education.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual therapy, family therapy, group therapy, and mental health evaluations.
• Participate in treatment planning to set therapeutic goals in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
• Execute treatment plan goals as they pertain to the therapeutic aspects of patient/family care.
• Complete all required documentation in a professional and timely manner.
• Provide psychoeducation to patients and their families/guardians regarding diagnosis, treatment interventions, and recommendations.
• Coordinate clinical case management with the multidisciplinary team and community supports (schools, therapists, physicians, etc.) for assessment, communication, and aftercare planning.
• Participate in service-related meetings, including team meetings, rounds, clinical conferences, community meetings, staff meetings, and in-service.
• May participate in research or other specialized activities as arranged with supervisor.
• Attend Social Work and Counseling Department staff meetings and meet all related responsibilities.
• Demonstrate conduct that exemplifies the professional Code of Ethics.
• Attend supervision as required.
• May provide supervision of social work/counseling students, including:
  • Providing reliable, high-quality supervision of trainees.
  • Participating in teaching of trainees.
  • Maintaining active faculty status if required for assigned trainees.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in a human services field (e.g., social work, mental health counseling, marriage and family therapy, psychology) from an accredited graduate school.
• Current independent license from the State of Rhode Island (LICSW, LMHC, LMFT).
• Demonstrated knowledge and skills to provide care to patients across the lifespan, considering aging processes, human development stages, and cultural patterns.
• Significant experience and/or training working with children, adolescents, and families.

Pay

$32.56–$53.71 per hour.

Variable as needed (per diem).
