About the role
This position is primarily responsible for providing basic hair care, including permanents, to residents able to receive hair care in a beauty shop or Woodland Park Home setting. Reports pertinent information to the immediate supervisor and assists the immediate supervisor with service line operational support.Responsibilities
- Provide basic hair care services such as perms to residents in designated settings.
- Report pertinent information to the immediate supervisor.

Requirements
- Must be a high school graduate or equivalent.
- Sufficient experience in the hair care field to meet the needs of older residents.
- Current license in Cosmetology in Virginia and at least 6 months of experience.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Must be able to act and intervene independently in routine and emergencies, be self-motivated, and maintain positive relationships with residents and co-workers.
- Must be able to deal tactfully with residents, families, and the general public in a positive, professional, and customer-first manner.
- Must have the ability to understand and carry out oral and written assignments; ability to perform the duties listed in the job description with limited supervision.
- Self-motivated, able to schedule time wisely and accommodate changes.
Qualifications
- Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
Skills
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of cosmetology techniques and products.
