About the Role

Group Facilitator is responsible for delivering the RCA Substance Abuse curriculum to patients in our detox and residential recovery program. The curriculum will be provided to ensure quality and consistency in its delivery. The role involves facilitating 15-20 one-hour groups per week, attending staff meetings, trainings, and performing other assigned duties.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver clinical groups professionally and effectively to meet desired learning objectives.
  • Engage with the recovery community in a culturally competent manner, both in and outside the group setting.
  • Complete 15-25 groups per week, including clinical notes and all other required paperwork as per policy.
  • Provide back-up clinical services as needed, including family contact and individual sessions.
  • Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree; master’s degree preferred.
  • One year of related experience, preferably in a residential setting providing group-based care and/or working with a substance use disordered population.
  • Eligible for independent licensure or credential within 3 years of hire date if not already in process or credentialed. Acceptable licensure includes LPCA, LPC, LPCS, LMSW, LISW, LMFTA, LMFTS, LACA, LAC, and LACS. Acceptable credentials include ADC-IP, ADC, AADC, and AADC-CS. Other credentials will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple competing tasks.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.

Work Environment

May work in professional offices, clinics, hospitals, or outpatient facilities. The role involves active engagement with patients and requires spending much of the time on your feet.

Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to talk or hear.
  • Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
  • Occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Travel

Travel is primarily local during the business day.
