About the role

Johnson Controls, a global leader in thermal management, mission-critical building systems, energy efficiency, and decarbonization, seeks an Inspector to conduct routine inspections, testing, service, and preventative maintenance on Fire Sprinkler Systems and similar products.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect and test Fire Sprinkler Systems and similar products
  • Work with low voltage wiring and associated devices for the operation of low voltage equipment
  • Complete Service Acknowledgements with proper coding through communication devices such as laptop computers and/or hard copy
  • Follow and maintain a highly structured inspection schedule
  • Input, retrieve, and archive inspection documents via mobile device
  • Perform minor repairs and programming changes to systems being inspected
  • Complete assigned inspections on time
  • Carry/move equipment and tools weighing up to 70lbs and perform physical labor
  • Assist foreman in the installation of wet, dry, pre-action, and deluge sprinkler systems
  • Work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions, such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high lift equipment

Requirements

  • 4+ years of documented experience in sprinkler systems
  • OKDOL Sprinkler License is required
  • Experience with wet, dry, pre-action, deluge, fire pumps, and foam systems
  • Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, programs, schematics, and operational/product manuals
  • Experience with hand tools and multi-meter usage
  • Capable of performing physical labor to include carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 50-70 lbs
  • Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high lift equipment up to 40 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including on-call rotation, nights, and weekends to meet customer requirements
  • Demonstrate a high level of customer service
  • Ability to adhere to, implement, and follow safety guidelines and procedures at all times
  • Strong organizational skills, positive attitude, and an ability to learn quickly

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Must be able to pass a drug screening and background check

Skills

  • Knowledge of fire protection systems
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and technical documents
  • Proficiency with hand tools and multi-meter usage
  • Physical stamina and ability to perform physical labor
  • Ability to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions

Pay

Hiring hourly range: $25.20-$37.79 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
