Responsibilities

  • Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures.
  • Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components using test equipment and hand tools to locate and correct issues.
  • Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
  • Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and compliance with codes.
  • Advise management on potential hazards of continued equipment operation.
  • Test electrical systems and circuit continuity using devices like ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes to ensure safety and compatibility.
  • Maintain a current electrician’s license or identification card to meet governmental regulations.
  • Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures based on job specifications and local codes.
  • Direct and train workers to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
  • Prepare sketches or follow blueprints to determine wiring and equipment locations, ensuring conformance to building and safety codes.
  • Price jobs, calculate time to perform work, and complete necessary paperwork.
  • Calculate service costs for customers and collect payment.
  • Train and work one-on-one with Electrical apprentices.

Requirements

  • Must hold an Electrical Master or Journeyman license (E2 or E1).
  • Completed High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 4 years of trade school in Electrical.
  • Willingness to participate in technical continuing education.
  • Minimum of 4 years of related work experience is preferred.
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license with a safe driving history.
