Licensed Counselor

About the role

As a licensed counselor, you’ll provide therapeutic Christian counseling care for individuals and families working in the global Bible translation ministry. Your work will help ensure their success and continued participation in Wycliffe’s mission.

Responsibilities

• Receive ongoing training on issues specific to the organizational and cross-cultural contexts of Wycliffe staff.
• Develop and apply preventive, therapeutic, and consultative approaches tailored to this ministry setting.
• Maintain client records in accordance with ethical and professional standards.
• Other duties as assigned by your supervisor.
• Build and sustain a team of prayer and financial partners to support your Wycliffe ministry, following the Wycliffe Partnership Development policy.

Requirements

• Clear background check.
• Master’s degree or higher in a mental health field (e.g., psychology, counseling, social work, or marriage and family therapy), compatible with licensing standards in your sending country/state.
• Active clinical mental health/counseling license in your state.
