About the role

The University Counseling Center (UCC) is seeking a counselor to provide services to our university community. Our counseling center provides services to students, faculty and staff that include individual, couples and group counseling; crisis intervention; case management; outreach; and supervision of students in training. The center directs a masters practicum program.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual, couples and group counseling services to students, faculty and staff.
  • Offer crisis intervention and case management services.
  • Supervise students in training.
  • Develop and implement outreach programming for the student body and campus partners.
  • Engage in professional development and participation in continuing education opportunities.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, Counseling, Human Relations, or related field.
  • 24 months of professional Counseling experience.
  • Licensed Master of Social Work, Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Licensed Clinical Social Work, or Licensed Psychologist, or ability to obtain one of the aforementioned licenses within 18 months of hire date.
  • Experience working in a college or university counseling center.
  • Experience with provision of clinical supervision to trainees.
  • Strong professional interest and experience working with a diverse student population.
  • Interest and/or experience in providing outreach programming to student body/campus partners.

Skills

Excellent communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong organizational and time management skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Knowledge of counseling theories and techniques. Ability to maintain confidentiality.
