About the role

The Licensed Colorist is the trusted advisor to DIY enthusiasts, providing digital color consultations to guide them through their hair color journey. This role builds lasting relationships with clients, elevating the brand of Sally Beauty and increasing sales and profitability.

Responsibilities

• Grow the Business: Connect, engage, and inspire clients through digital color consultations to build lasting relationships. Make expert product recommendations, build customized shopping carts, and ensure clients are set up for success. Troubleshoot color situations to ensure positive outcomes. Teach and advise on products and techniques to ensure client success. Demonstrate the Sally Engagement Model, provide written summaries, and follow up to ensure client satisfaction. Meet or exceed established metrics and color growth goals.
• Grow Team and Culture: Stay updated on Sally Beauty trends and share expertise with the team. Communicate with support center partners on emerging trends, product concerns, and client issues.
• Grow Yourself: Complete required training programs and seek out learning opportunities to develop expertise. Strive for continuous improvement and retain clients, increasing sales.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, with valid Cosmetology License emphasizing Color Theory preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years retail, customer service, salon, or one year with Sally Beauty experience.
• Ability to pass a detailed Hair Color Knowledge Check.
• Strong professional image and ability to interface positively with clients.
• Technology proficiency, including software platforms, Microsoft Office, and digital video conferencing systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Profound problem-solving skills and ability to correct complex hair color situations.
• Flexibility to work scheduled hours and additional hours based on business needs, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Ability to attend virtually or travel to meetings and vendor training, as scheduled.
