About the role

Sycamores is partnering with the 988 mental health crisis hotline to provide support to people experiencing a mental health crisis. The 988 hotline offers initial phone support and triages calls to Sycamores Mobile Crisis Outreach Teams for in‑person response. The Mobile Crisis Outreach Team operates 24/7, 365 days a year with flexible shifts. The Mobile Crisis Outreach Clinician responds in person to deliver crisis stabilization, safety planning, assessment for danger to self or others, and support for gravely disabled individuals, including writing 51/50 holds as needed and providing follow‑up support. Using the Mobile Crisis Outreach Team van, the clinician co‑responds with a MCOT Peer Support Specialist and is an integral part of the larger MCOT, working closely with the 988 call center, police, sheriff, psychiatric hospitals, and ambulance transport companies. The MCOT Clinician evaluates individuals in the field to determine safety needs, leads care coordination (locating hospitals, ambulances, housing, etc.), and operates within designated geographical areas such as Antelope Valley, San Fernando Valley, or San Gabriel Valley.
