Licensed Clinician (LCSW, LPC, LMFT) - Young Adult IOP (per diem)

About the Role

Natchaug Hospital is Eastern Connecticut’s leading provider for children, adolescents, and adults with mental illness and substance use addictions. We offer a variety of programs including inpatient and outpatient behavioral health, residential treatment for court-involved teenage girls, geriatric services, clinical day treatment schools, and chemical dependency services. Through our multi-site network of care, we strive to meet our mission of helping people find their way while educating and empowering individuals to participate in their own care and recovery.

In the Young Adult Intensive Outpatient programs (IOP), we focus on creating a therapeutic environment where people can learn strategies for coping and improve their functioning. Each client’s treatment plan is centered on group therapy, allowing for sharing of experiences while gaining support and validation. Our intensive, structured clinical treatment programs provide up to six hours of treatment a day, five days a week, for those who need comprehensive care but do not require inpatient or residential hospitalization.

Responsibilities

• Conducts comprehensive bio-psychosocial assessments and establishes care plans.
• Provides direct patient care, including case management, care coordination, interdisciplinary collaboration, crisis intervention, safety planning, counseling, and emotional support to patients and families.
• Refers patients to appropriate levels of care and available resources to promote individualized care plans.
• Maintains timely, patient-centered documentation reflecting assessment, interventions, and outcomes in accordance with regulatory and licensing requirements.
• Independently provides clinical social work interventions to all patient populations.
• May provide social work field supervision to second-year social work students.

Schedule

• September to May: Monday - Thursday evenings, 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
• Additional hours available throughout the year.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in social work, counseling, marriage and family therapy, or related human service field.
• Previous experience in a healthcare setting required, preferably working with a chemical dependency population; adults preferred.
• Current Connecticut license: LCSW, LPC, LMFT, LADC, or PsyD.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to establish relationships within and outside the entity.
• Cognizant of health-related social needs and cultural competence.
• Recognizes and addresses health disparities, inequalities, and injustices related to access to care and provision of health services.
