Licensed Certified Social Worker
About the role
Assesses client's needs by obtaining and/or evaluating a medical and behavioral health history. Performs mental health assessments including social history, obtains and interprets laboratory and radiological tests. Works with the Psychiatrist/Medical Director to develop a treatment plan. Provides counseling and instructions, or appropriate referrals regarding medical and behavioral health needs. Refers clients to other sources of healthcare or community referrals as needed.
Responsibilities
- Conducts and participates in medical education sessions for professional and client groups.
- Maintains and reviews client records, including referrals and follow-ups.
- Participates in quality assurance components of the clinic (e.g., chart audits, safety core measures).
- Keeps abreast of new information and treatments through continued education and review of journals, clearinghouse information, newsletters, and periodicals.
- Adheres to minimum medical guidelines for federally funded programs.
Requirements
- A master's degree in social work from an accredited program by the Council on Social Work Education.
- Two years (3,000 hours) of post-master's LCSW supervised social work experience.
- Successful completion of the Board-approved examination.
- Experience with substance use disorder is preferred.
Qualifications
- LCSW or LMSW license.
- PLMSW candidate with comparable experience may be considered.
