Licensed Associate Counselor

About the Role

Provides clinical assessment, counseling, and behavioral health services for a defined patient population under the clinical supervision of a licensed behavioral health professional, in accordance with state licensing requirements. Services are provided to patients, families, and groups in inpatient, residential, and outpatient settings.

Responsibilities

• Assists with assessment, treatment planning, crisis intervention, care coordination, and documentation while developing the competencies required for independent licensure.
• Provides individual, family, and group counseling under clinical supervision.
• Conducts assessments, develops treatment plans, and documents care in accordance with licensure requirements.
• Collaborates with patients, families, providers, and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care.
• Monitors patient progress, provides education and support, and facilitates referrals as appropriate.
• Identifies behavioral health crises and consults with the supervising clinician to ensure appropriate intervention.
• Participates in multidisciplinary treatment planning and required clinical supervision.
• Maintains timely, accurate clinical documentation and complies with organizational and regulatory standards.

Requirements

• Master's degree in psychology, social work, counseling, behavioral health, or a related human services field.
• Active state of Alaska associate-level behavioral health license.
• Knowledge of behavioral health assessment, counseling principles, crisis intervention, and clinical documentation.
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively under supervision.
• BLS certification required for acute care assignments.

Preferred Qualifications

Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
