About the role

Licensed Assistant Managers support the Practice Managers in overseeing all day-to-day store operations. They supervise all practice employees, ensuring AEG policies and procedures are followed, standards are enforced, and all patients' needs are met.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise all practice employees
  • Ensure AEG policies and procedures are followed
  • Enforce standards and meet patients' needs
  • Work on the sales floor assisting Opticians with sales and troubleshooting
  • Resolve customer service issues and provide refunds
  • Sign off on spectacle remakes
  • Monitor patient flow and ensure on-time practice performance
  • Help move patients through without disruptions and communicate with Technicians regarding schedule
  • Check in on patients in the lobby
  • Monitor associates break times and ensure compliance with law and company policy
  • Participate in interviewing and selecting new practice employees
  • Participate in employee disciplinary actions if necessary
  • Custom fit glasses and place prescriptions in lenses
  • Collect eye and face measurements for proper fit
  • Interpret prescriptions and document any employee relations issues
  • Resolve conflicts between associates and escalate to Practice Manager or HR as appropriate
  • Organize and lead staff meetings
  • Provide ongoing feedback to employees
  • Facilitate training for new team members
  • Demonstrate cost awareness and suggest improvements
  • Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and stock levels
  • Participate in annual store inventory
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Practice Manager

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • State licensure
  • Extensive optical and dispensing experience required
  • Experience with customer service and/or sales
  • Management experience preferred

  • Computer literacy and data entry
  • Read and understand basic financial statements
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong conflict resolution skills
  • Able to lift to 30 lbs., bend, kneel, and stand up to 8 hours a day
