Job Summary

The Department of Health Services (DHS) Division of Quality Assurance (DQA), Office of Plan, Review and Inspection (OPRI) is recruiting for a Licensed Architect or Professional Engineer. This position is based in Green Bay with the option to work remotely up to 5 days per week. Travel is required 2-3 days per week within the northeastern region of Wisconsin, with overnight stays occasionally.

Responsibilities

  • Review construction plans and evaluate long-term care facilities, assisted living facilities, and other health care facilities to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Perform onsite reviews and inspections of health care facilities to assess the quality and appropriateness of the physical environment.
  • Evaluate construction documents and provide advice and education during the review, construction, and survey processes, focusing on certification and licensure of these facilities.
  • Advise and educate on the appropriate use of federal and state regulations related to health care facility design and construction.

Qualifications

  • Licensure or eligibility for licensure by the time of appointment as an Architect or Professional Engineer by the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services.
  • Experience with building and construction regulations, codes, and standards.
  • Experience in a design, inspection, construction project lead, or commission capacity related to commercial buildings, systems, or components.

Pay and Schedule

The starting pay is between $44.68 to $51.07 per hour (approximately $92,900 to $106,200 per year), depending on experience, plus an 18-month probationary period. Pay for current or former state employees is set based upon the rules that apply to compensation for the applicable transaction. This position will be classified as either an Architect Advanced or a Civil Engineer Advanced depending on licensure and is in pay schedule and range 14/13.
