Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC) – Part-Time
Cochran Recovery Services is currently seeking a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor to work in a part-time capacity at our Maplewood location. Hourly rates range from $30.00 to $40.00.

About the Role
The Counselor plays an important role in the delivery of treatment services to clients and is responsible for ensuring that all clients receive services as mandated by the Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS). The Counselor provides services to support achievement of effective personal development, working with clients individually and in group settings to identify and resolve issues including substance use, mental health, personal and/or emotional, and family issues. Counselors must maintain client confidentiality in accordance with state and federal guidelines and HIPAA requirements.
Responsibilities
- Deliver treatment services to clients as mandated by the Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS).
- Provide individual and group counseling to address substance use, mental health, personal, emotional, and family issues.
- Maintain client confidentiality in accordance with state, federal, and HIPAA requirements.
- Document services effectively in an electronic health records (EHR) system.
- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
Requirements
- Current LADC License.
- Age 18 or older.
- Demonstrated working knowledge in the field of substance use disorder and/or mental health, preferably in an addiction treatment facility.
- Previous counseling or counseling internship experience.
- High degree of computer literacy, including experience using an electronic health records (EHR) system.
- Excellent written, communication, customer service, and case management skills.
- Able to pass a Minnesota DHS background study.
- Maturity, patience, understanding, and empathy when working with recovering individuals.
- Ability to relate to people from diverse backgrounds.
Preferred Qualifications
- Additional licenses such as LP, LICSW, LMFT, or LPCC.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in a related field.
- Strong skills as a consultant and facilitator.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, facilitation, negotiation, investigation, and mediation skills.
Physical Demands
- Sitting for extended periods of time.
- Daily use of general office and/or residential facility equipment.
- Lifting (maximum 10 pounds), minimal reaching, bending, and stooping.
- Ability to effectively navigate program and office environments, including ascending and descending steps, passing through doorways, and accessing facilities.
- Proficient understanding, following instructions, and communicating effectively in English.
- Ability to document services in writing formatted in English.
Pay
Part-time Counselors hourly rates range from $30.00 to $40.00.
