Pay
Competitive pay based on experience, plus shift differentials.
Schedule
- Part-Time | 16–20 hours per week
- 3rd Shift | 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Consistent two-week rotating schedule with every other weekend required
License/Certification Required
- Current Virginia Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license
- Current CPR/BLS Certification
Responsibilities
- Provide professional nursing care in accordance with physician orders and individualized care plans.
- Safely administer medications and treatments while maintaining accurate documentation.
- Monitor resident conditions and promptly report significant changes to physicians, supervisors, and family members.
- Complete and maintain accurate medical documentation, including MARs, treatment records, care plans, and resident summaries.
- Supervise, support, and assign daily responsibilities to Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs).
- Conduct regular rounds to assess resident care, safety, and staff performance.
- Participate in shift report and collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team.
- Assist with quality assurance initiatives and implementation of care improvements.
- Help maintain adequate supplies and identify chargeable resident items.
- Participate in required education, in-service training, and continuing education to maintain clinical competency.
- Promote Covenant Woods' values, Code of Conduct, and commitment to exceptional resident care.
Qualifications
- Current Virginia Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license
- Graduate of an approved School of Nursing
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to supervise and lead nursing assistants
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
Physical Requirements
This position requires the ability to:
- Stand and walk for extended periods
- Frequently bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach
- Lift up to 25 pounds
- Push and pull resident care equipment
- Safely assist residents with mobility and nursing care
- Operate medication carts, treatment equipment, and other medical devices
