About the role
This position is located at: DFMWR Post Library - Fort Irwin, California.
Our on-post Library delivers inclusive learning, tech access, and community programs for Soldiers, families, and youth. Supports research, education, and recreation with classes, events, and modern resources. A welcoming hub that strengthens readiness, curiosity, and lifelong learning.
Responsibilities
- Registers patrons, discharges materials, processes overdues and reserves, shelves library materials, prepares displays, programs activities, answers basic reference questions, and assists customers in locating materials.
- Affords assistance in maintaining accountability records and performing shelf inventories.
- Performs simple maintenance on the library's automated systems.
- May perform physical exertion such as long periods of standing, bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, pushing of loaded trucks and recurring lifting of heavy items such as boxes of books or journals.
- Provides technical services support in a variety of functions.
Qualifications
- A qualified candidate must possess the following:
- One year of specialized experience at the next lower grade
- Or
- Two years of education above high school
- Or
- A combination of specialized experience and education that equates to 100% of the qualification requirements.
