Regular/probationary classified position, non-exempt under FLSA. Start date: 2026/2027 school year (181 work days).
Schedule
7 hours/day, Monday–Friday.
Pay
Starting at $22.21 per hour with benefits. The district contributes 6% of salary to the Oregon Public Employee Retirement System (PERS/OPSRP) Individual Account Program (IAP) upon eligibility (six full calendar months in a qualifying position; part-time employees qualify after six months and 600 hours in a calendar year).
Responsibilities
- Exercise independent judgment to manage daily library/media operations, technical services, collection development, budget, and programs in alignment with administrative direction, district policies, and instructional goals.
- Assist students and staff in the use of print and digital library materials and technology.
- Independently supervise students in small groups or entire classes.
- Coordinate and train community volunteers and student assistants in library tasks.
- Train and assist staff and students in literature, information literacy, resources, and technology applications to encourage independent learning and personal growth.
- Resolve issues and respond to requests for assistance and materials within a specialized area of assignment.
- Maintain an organized library media center by processing, circulating, inventorying, maintaining, and shelving materials and resources.
- Manage patron accounts, overdue items, and lost materials using the computerized library circulation system.
- Repair library/media books, textbooks, and other materials.
- Provide standard first aid in a competent and compassionate manner.
- Perform other related services as assigned.

Qualifications
- Associate’s degree (or higher), two years of post-secondary study (72 quarter or 48 semester credits), or a passing score on a district-approved assessment.
- Knowledge and experience in library/media programs and functions.
- Ability to understand and support the building/program’s instructional goals.
- Mastery of library and office systems equipment, multimedia, and technology.
- Ability to diagnose and problem-solve software and equipment difficulties.
- Ability to formulate ideas for program improvement.
- Ability to understand and implement the school/program’s student discipline policy.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to independently plan, organize, and carry out work assignments, and to direct the work of volunteers and student assistants.
- Ability to interact effectively and collaboratively with individuals and groups of all ages, and to manage student behavior.
- Ability to travel among district facilities as needed; if driving, meet district driving standards.
- Standard First Aid certification, or ability to obtain certification within two months of hire, may be required.
