Your Responsibilities
- Serves as an advocate for Lockton clients through the claim process, while respecting the client’s and Lockton’s relationship with the insurance carrier.
- Serves as a consultant to assigned clients in managing all aspects of their liability claims program.
- Manages the claims relationship with the client and Lockton.
- Assists client in developing the structure and procedures for their internal claim management processes.
- Evaluates and manages the quality of claim services provided by the insurance carrier or third party administrator (TPA).
- Coordinates the TPA RFP process including the written and oral presentation process, transition from incumbent to newly selected TPA, assists in creating claim handling instructions, and advocates on behalf of the client with any service issues that may arise.
- Evaluates claim trends through loss history and use of data.
- Coordinates, participates, and presents in client meetings.
- Captures and participates in client claim reviews.
- Captures and participates in client claim quality audits.
- Develops service plans as appropriate.
- Attends staff meetings, unit meetings, educational workshops, carrier functions, and social functions as needed.
- Plans and administers peer coaching.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business-related field or equivalent education and/or work experience.
- Proficiency in the evaluation, interpretation and communication to the client casualty insurance coverage.
- Property claims experience and medical malpractice claims experience coverage knowledge a plus.
- Ability to professionally interact with businesspersons of all levels and succinctly communicate information and strategies.
- Substantial knowledge of the practices and procedures of insurance carriers and third party administrators, and the skill to effectively develop long term partnerships that meet client expectations and needs.
- Proven experience in the evaluation of the accuracy of claim reserving practices.
- Organizational and time management skills that enable you to successfully prioritize a sometimes-heavy workload to meet time sensitive deadlines.
- Ability to work with current technology including Lockton proprietary software, claims and risk management information systems, Microsoft – Word, Excel, & PowerPoint products, with little instruction.
- Proven leadership and critical thinking skills, and the ability to resolve unusual and complex issues.
- A keen ability to negotiate with all parties involved in the claim management process, and effectively influence positive outcomes.
- Compliance with established Lockton ethical business standards.
