Level II Technician specializing in LP or electric Material Handling Equipment (MHE) maintenance, with expertise in one fuel type and self-sufficiency across all related repairs.
Responsibilities
- Perform Preventative Maintenance (PM) services on LP and electric forklifts, including:
- Fluid changes: engine oil, transmission fluid, differential gear lube, hydraulic fluid
- Filter replacements: air, oil, fuel, ATF
- Tune-ups: valve adjustments, spark plug and wire replacements
- Brake and riser adjustments
- Wheel bearing inspection and repacking
- Scheduled battery inspections and watering for electric forklifts
- Battery removal, repairs, and installations
- Equipment touch-up painting as required
- Attachment pad rotations
- Part replacements: horns, lights, tires, and other components as necessary
- Basic troubleshooting and repair of overheating issues
- Steering system troubleshooting and repair
- Meet productivity targets: minimum 30 completed PM services per month and 80–90% productivity level
Requirements
- 1–2 years of troubleshooting experience with electric or LP equipment
- Experience in basic repairs of electric or LP equipment
- Experience with attachment repairs
- Basic knowledge of electrical systems, LP systems, hydraulic systems, and DVOM
- Ability to read wiring schematics and follow service manual instructions
- Strong customer service skills
- Proficiency with MS Office and computer applications
- Post-high school or technical school education desirable but not required
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Physical ability to:
- Lift and/or pull 75 lbs or more without restriction
- Work outside in inclement weather conditions
- Work in environments with excessive noise and respiratory hazards
- Stand or lie down for extended periods to repair equipment
- Reach equipment/parts and maneuver equipment with flexible movement
- Willingness to travel as needed
- Must provide own hand tools
