About the role
Contract opportunity as a LEU+ Civil Structural Field Engineer is onsite at Columbia Fuel Facility in Columbia, SC.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Construction Superintendent and Project Engineer by overseeing the civil/structural construction progress, interpreting drawings, and collaborating with the team to address civil/structural issues and maintain quality standard.
- Conduct regular jobsite walk-downs to ensure compliance with engineering requirements for assigned discipline.
- Participate in design reviews for assigned discipline.
- Prepare and submit regular reports on project progress, issues, and other relevant information for assigned discipline.
- Demonstrate commitment to a safe and injury-free workplace by enforcing safety protocols and addressing potential hazards in the field.
- Participate in regular jobsite project meetings and inspections as directed by the Construction Superintendent and Project Engineer.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university, specializing in Civil/Structural Engineering or equivalent degree.
- At least 7 years of discipline-related Engineering experience, with at least 3 years of it in the nuclear industry.
- 3 years of technical project execution and/or field installation experience as a field engineer or similar role in the nuclear industry.
- Previous experience in an engineering, procurement and operations environment in the nuclear industry.
- Experience with construction methods and procedures.
- Knowledge of the theories, principles, practice and techniques for designing structures, piping, and supports.
- Knowledge of rigging and handling practices, the related standards, regulations, codes and directives and how they are applied.
- Knowledge of construction codes as they apply in the nuclear industry.
- Desire to exceed customers' expectations in ways that are in consideration of our goals.
- OSHA 30-hour certification or other equivalent safety certification.
- Will hold and maintain a Security Clearance at a US Nuclear facility.
Physical Requirements
- Occasionally carry / lift up to 50 pounds.
- Full range of motion.
- Free access to all points of a construction site in different environments.

Pay Range
The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $57/hour to $65/hour.
