Lending Specialist

About the role

This position may be based out of any of our branch locations: Merrill, Tomahawk, Rhinelander, Minocqua, Wausau, or Stevens Point. The primary focus is to quickly and actively take and work loan requests from application to closing. You will perform a high volume of outbound loan campaign calls while driving revenue through offering products and services that meet members’ needs.

The employee will handle loan applications received via phone, online channels, and other credit union employees, and will be accountable for achieving individual and team production, cross-sale, and ancillary lending product sales goals. You must work well in a team environment but also be motivated and self-disciplined to work independently while executing the credit union’s vision and providing Raving Fan service with every member interaction.

Responsibilities

• Drive revenue by achieving loan goals and identifying additional opportunities with members that support the credit union’s strategic goals and objectives, including presenting loan solicitations as recommended from underwriting and through examination of the member’s credit report.
• Ensure loan applications are processed quickly and accurately within the standards laid out by the Chief Retail Officer.
• Perform a high volume of outbound calls to existing credit union members and members who have recently obtained a loan through an indirect partner, with the expectation to grow relationships and increase the number of PFI (primary financial institution) relationships.
• Meet assigned goals for member protection products, including but not limited to GAP, warranty, and debt protection.
• Act as a trusted advisor by providing recommendations for future lending approvals and delivering loan turn-down decisions to members.
• Document all sales activities in the credit union’s core system.
• Provide exceptional Raving Fan member service, projecting the credit union’s vision in every interaction.
• Serve membership by providing service and information in a pleasant, professional, and efficient manner via telephone or correspondence.
• Achieve department goals while meeting standards for quality.
• Complete and maintain necessary reports and records pertaining to the Bank Secrecy Act, including Currency Transaction Reports and reporting suspicious activity when applicable.
• Treat all credit union members and employees with a positive and cooperative attitude.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Branch Manager.

Requirements

• Previous or current lending experience at PCCU or another financial institution is required.
• Consumer Lender can work out of the Merrill, Minocqua, or Rhinelander locations.
• Possess effective communication and strong listening skills.
• Ability to foster relationships and influence sales decisions.
