Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a subject matter expert on drafting legislation and regulations
- Provide internal and external guidance on both the legislative and rulemaking processes
- Develop supporting materials and legislation for department legislative proposals
- During the legislative session, review and track filed bills and amendments and analyze the impact to the department
- Draft amendments to bills filed during session that affect the department
- Draft, review, and edit regulations and manage numerous simultaneous rulemakings to meet deadlines
- Perform other legal tasks as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- Tennessee law license
- A minimum of two years of experience as an attorney
