Legal Secretary
About the role

If this sounds like you, then you might be the ideal candidate for Legal Secretary at the Louisville Trial Office of the Kentucky Department of Public Advocacy.
Responsibilities
- Act as a liaison between attorneys, clients, and other members of the community.
- Draft and edit a variety of documents, requiring excellent communication skills - both written and verbal.
- Manage multiple time-sensitive tasks for various attorneys, prioritizing and completing duties independently.
- Use Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel, Court net, and other court-related platforms.
- File creation, prepare correspondence, data entry, answer phones, greet clients as needed, prepare and/or proofread legal documents for staff attorneys, and assist with other clerical tasks.
Requirements
- High school graduate.
- Four years of clerical experience.
- Additional education will substitute for the required experience on a year for year basis.
- Clerical experience will substitute for the required education on a year for year basis.
Qualifications
- Pleasant, outgoing personality both in-person and on the phone.
Skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
- Time management skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel, Court net, and other court-related platforms.

Pay
Salary: $32,469.60 - $48,705.12 Annually
