About the role
A trust and estates Legal Practice Assistant supports estate planning and fiduciary litigation attorneys by handling various administrative and legal tasks.
Responsibilities
- Preparation of indexed PDFs
- Tracking of financial information in Excel
- Communicating with court clerks and clients
- Filing probate pleadings and litigation pleadings
- Setting up client meetings
- Calendar management
- Reviewing and preparing invoices for trust and estate clients
- Managing other administrative tasks for supervising attorneys
Requirements
- Ability to respond quickly to changing demands and work independently as part of a team
- Excellent organizational and calendaring skills
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong document management and attention to detail
- Professional attitude and ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite applications
- Participation in meetings with clients, attorneys, and advisors regarding estate and trust matters
- Effective communication with clients, family members, trustees, other attorneys, and professionals
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- At least two plus years of experience in a professional services firm; some experience in trusts and estates work, or litigation is a plus
