Legal Extern

McAfee’s Legal Externship offers a part-time, remote opportunity for a third-year law student to gain hands-on experience in an in-house legal department during the Fall 2026 semester. The Extern will support the Legal team across regulatory compliance, corporate, product, employment, litigation, ethics & compliance, and transactional matters, working approximately 10 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Research, draft, review, and propose revisions to contractual documents, policies, contracts, litigation pleadings, or advice memoranda.
• Support Legal team members on projects, business initiatives, and partnership opportunities related to legal compliance and corporate governance.
• Conduct legal and policy research and drafting.
• Research prospects for or defense of new or threatened litigation, including both factual and legal claims.
• Assist with other legal- or ethics & compliance-related projects as assigned.

Requirements

• Enrolled as a full-time, third-year law student at an ABA-accredited US-based law school during the Fall 2026 semester.
• If seeking course credit, must be enrolled in an ABA-accredited law school internship/externship or clinical program for Fall 2026 and available to work September through November 2026.
• Willing to work part-time during the school semester.
• Commute to Frisco or Dallas, TX, may be required on an as-needed basis; relocation assistance is not offered.
