Legal Engineer

For our client, we are seeking a Legal Engineer to join the team of a leader in the Enterprise Technology space. This role sits at the intersection of law, software, and AI, helping shape how legal data is translated into reliable, usable technology. You will partner closely with product managers and engineers to improve system quality, define evaluation standards, and turn legal expertise into practical tools that strengthen product performance. The position is ideal for someone who can bridge legal judgment with technical execution in a fast-moving enterprise technology environment. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available Compensation: $155,000 – $165,000 annually Responsibilities Define and implement reliable evaluations for legal AI outputs Provide legal expertise to product teams on specifications and designs Identify and validate changes that improve legal quality in existing systems Develop actionable software tools to support legal quality assurance Collaborate with product managers and engineers on system improvements Qualifications JD, LLB, or equivalent legal qualification, or a Bachelor's degree plus 3+ years in legal practice or operations Proven experience building software systems that utilize legal data Familiarity with structured data formats such as JSON, XML, and Markdown Experience with agentic AI for legal and software tasks Strong communication skills with the ability to bridge law and technology Benefits 90% of healthcare premiums covered by the company HSA contributions from the company 401(k) match at 4% with immediate vesting Flexible PTO, typically 3-4 weeks annually 10 paid holidays Monthly wellness contributions Access to LinkedIn Learning with dedicated time for exploration Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
