At Bending Spoons, we’re striving to build one of the all-time great companies—a company that serves a huge number of customers, where team members grow to their full potential, and that functions at unparalleled levels of effectiveness and efficiency. We acquire and improve digital businesses for the long term, making deep transformations to speed up innovation, benefit customers, and strengthen business performance. Here, hierarchy is minimal, teams are small and talent-dense, and we operate established products with the ambition, agility, and urgency of a startup. Across the company, we integrate AI deeply into how we work so that human judgment and machine intelligence reinforce each other.

Responsibilities

  • Support our acquisitions by advising the Accounting, Finance, and Business Acquisitions team on cross-border transactions, conducting due diligence, analyzing and drafting transaction documents, and managing post-completion integrations.
  • Draft and negotiate cross-border commercial contracts with vendors and customers, including confidentiality, consulting, licensing, SaaS, and other technology-related agreements, while applying judgment to validate terms and manage risk.
  • Support product launches by partnering with product teams on global launches—drafting external communications, legal terms, and policies, leveraging AI to produce first drafts efficiently.
  • Advise across the business by collaborating cross-functionally and with outside counsel to deliver practical legal advice and risk mitigation strategies on technology, product, marketing, commercial, regulatory, intellectual property, consumer protection, and AI governance matters.
  • Manage disputes and litigation in the US and abroad, coordinating with external advisers and ensuring alignment across business functions.
  • Build scalable legal tools by creating and maintaining forms, playbooks, and AI-powered workflows to support the company’s high-growth business.
  • Stay ahead of regulation by monitoring legal and regulatory developments and proactively identifying opportunities to unlock value and address evolving business needs.

Requirements

  • Reasoning ability: You solve complex problems from first principles, structure ideas sharply, resist biases, and focus on critical details.
  • Drive: You’re extremely ambitious, with initiative, effort, and tenacity that match your ambition. You hold yourself to a high—and rising—standard.
  • Team spirit: You give generously, support the best idea (not just your own), and are reliable, honest, and transparent.
  • Proficiency in English: You read, write, and speak English fluently.
  • Experience: After obtaining a law degree, you’ve practiced at a law firm or as in-house counsel, encountering challenges relevant to this role.

Benefits

  • Work in small, result-oriented, autonomous teams alongside some of the brightest people in your field.
  • Exceptional growth opportunities—high-potential individuals lead major projects early in their careers.
  • Flexible hours, remote working options, unlimited learning and training support, top-tier health insurance, relocation assistance, generous parental support, and a yearly retreat to a stunning location.
  • Competitive pay and access to company equity at a discount.

Pay

Typically, we offer individuals with limited experience an annual salary of $204,281 in the United States. For candidates with exceptional potential and highly unusual achievement, compensation typically ranges from $257,642 to $522,120, varying by location and expected impact. In higher-cost markets like New York City, offers are generally positioned toward the upper end of the range.

Schedule

Permanent or fixed-term, full-time. During your first few months, you’ll spend most days in our Milan office to ramp up quickly and absorb company culture, with generous travel and accommodation support. Afterward, you may work from one of our offices (New York, Boston, Miami, Atlanta) or remotely from eligible countries.
