Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including sales agreements, vendor agreements, SaaS agreements, data processing agreements, and online terms and conditions.
  • Support Regent’s media and technology businesses with copyright licenses, content distribution agreements, technology licenses, and other IP-adjacent commercial contracts.
  • Advise on privacy, data protection, and information security matters, including compliance with applicable U.S. and international data protection laws and regulations.
  • Partner closely with business, product, sales, and operations teams to provide practical, solutions-oriented legal guidance.
  • Support strategic transactions by advising on technology, data, media, and commercial contract-related issues.
  • Develop and maintain scalable contract templates, playbooks, and internal processes to support fast-moving businesses.
  • Identify and proactively mitigate legal risks related to technology platforms, digital products, media content, and data usage.
  • Monitor relevant legal and regulatory developments impacting technology, media, and privacy, and advise internal stakeholders accordingly.
  • Provide regular updates to senior leadership on key legal matters impacting Regent’s technology and media initiatives.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience at a large, nationally recognized law firm and/or a well-known technology or media company.
  • JD from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to at least one U.S. state bar in good standing.
  • Experience as a transactional and/or privacy lawyer.
  • Strong experience drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements, including SaaS, data processing, sales, vendor, and online terms.
  • Familiarity with copyright licensing and legal issues impacting media and technology-driven businesses.
  • Working knowledge of privacy and data protection laws and commercial data arrangements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate legal issues into clear business guidance.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Business-minded approach with sound judgment and a collaborative working style.
