Key Responsibilities
- Preparation and editing of legal documents, contracts, correspondence and reports
- Cordination and management of public records requests from intake through response and maintenance of organization of electronic and physical records
- Central point of contact with Town departments, government agencies, and the public
- Conducting research and gathering information to support legal and operational matters
- Handling confidential information with professionalism, discretion, and sound judgement
- Aiding with special projects and helping to improve processes and organization across the legal department
Requirements
- 2-4 years of experience
- Bachelor’s degree in office management, business, communications, or a related field
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and completeness
- Strong organizational skills, proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of research methods and the ability to locate, evaluate, and synthesize information from public, legal, and government sources
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with diverse stakeholders
- Sound judgement and the ability to maintain confidentiality
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience with document management software; experience with records management systems preferred
- Demonstrated initiative, problem-solving ability, and capacity to anticipate and resolve issues
- Ability to exercise independent judgement, make delegated decisions with confidence, and recognize when matters require escalation
- Notary Public (or within 60 days)
