Legal Consultant
Pay rate: $22.00 - $23.00/hour. Non-exempt positions are eligible for overtime at 1.5 times the base hourly rate for hours worked beyond 40 in a work week.
About the role
This position supports the Court Order Compliance group in a high-volume environment. The role involves data entry of legal processes into the workflow management system, requiring confidentiality, attention to detail, independent work, and problem-solving abilities.
Responsibilities
- Enter customer and account data from source documents within time limits by following policies and procedures.
- Handle calls and manage a high volume of dynamic customer service or dispatch-like interactions.
- Compile, verify accuracy, and sort information to prepare source data for computer entry.
- Review data for deficiencies or errors, correct any incompatibilities, and check output.
- Resolve deficiencies using standard procedures or return incomplete documents to the team lead/supervisor for resolution.
- Perform administrative tasks such as copying, filing, sorting, and mail distribution.
Requirements
- Understanding of and willingness to learn basic legal concepts, terminology, principles, and procedures.
- Ability to work independently with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Proficient typing and transcription skills.
- Strong computer and technical skills.
- Organizational and time management abilities.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Commitment to working as part of a team.
Skills
- Customer service experience is a plus.
- Any legal background, education, or experience is preferred, though a paralegal certificate is not required.
Pay
The typical base pay for this role across the U.S. is $22.00 - $23.00/hour. Final offer amounts, within this range, are determined by factors including relevant skills, education, and experience.
