About the role
Verrus is a developer of next generation, greenfield hyperscale data centers. It leverages onsite energy infrastructure to provide grid services and balance traditional and variable uptime workloads. Verrus is backed by Sidewalk Infrastructure Partners, a leading infrastructure holding company. The Legal Associate will support a lean, high-impact legal team.
Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and manage routine commercial agreements including NDAs, vendor agreements, and other standard-risk contracts.
- Serve as first point of contact for incoming agreement requests from internal business partners.
- Assemble, organize, and file Commercial and Board governance documents including written consents, board resolutions, and NDAs.
- Maintain consistent naming, dating, and version control standards across all entity files and databases.
- Support senior attorneys and outside counsel with legal research, diligence preparation, signature routing, and matter management.
- Manage relationships with external counsel and registered agents to maintain multi-state corporate compliance.
- Cook routine compliance and filing matters; coordinate billing, track deliverables, and flag issues for escalation.
- Leverage AI tools within the boundaries of Verrus’ AI policy as a standard and to increase your and the team’s effectiveness.
Qualifications
- J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
- Admitted to practice in at least one U.S. jurisdiction; California bar admission preferred, or actively pursuing California admission.
- 0–2 years of experience; law firm or in-house internship or clerkship in a corporate, transactional.
- Exceptional organizational skills; able to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously with high attention to detail in a lean, fast-moving environment.
- Strong written communication skills; ability to draft and communicate clearly and concisely.
