Legal Assistant – Litigation - Fargo, ND
Overview

We're looking for a Litigation Legal Assistant to support attorneys whose practices focus on business litigation and employment law. In this role, you'll support attorneys handling a wide range of matters, including commercial litigation, employment disputes, employee handbook and policy development, employment agreements, and other workplace-related legal matters. You'll help keep matters moving forward through document preparation, case management, client service, and administrative support. This position combines substantive legal support, practice management, and traditional legal assistant responsibilities. It's a great fit for someone who enjoys variety, takes pride in producing high-quality work, and likes being an active part of a team.
What You'll Do
- Draft, revise, proofread, and file pleadings, motions, correspondence, discovery requests, and other legal documents
- Draft and transcribe correspondence, legal documents, and attorney dictation
- Manage court deadlines, litigation calendars, and case schedules
- Coordinate state and federal court filings
- Organize and maintain case files, exhibits, and litigation materials
- Support attorneys with discovery, document productions, depositions, mediations, hearings, arbitrations, and trial preparation
- Prepare case chronologies, summaries, and supporting materials
- Assist with the preparation and revision of employee handbooks, workplace policies, employment agreements, separation agreements, and related documents
- Support attorneys handling employment disputes, workplace issues, and compliance-related matters
- Organize and manage personnel records and supporting documentation for employment law matters
- Assist with administrative agency filings and responses
- Prepare correspondence, summaries, presentations, and other supporting materials
- Manage attorney calendars, meetings, and scheduling
- Coordinate client meetings, conference calls, and travel arrangements
- Assist with billing, time entry, expense reports, and matter administration
- Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and other third parties
- Maintain organized electronic and physical files
- Provide administrative support that helps attorneys deliver exceptional client service
What We're Looking For
- Experience supporting attorneys in a law firm or legal department
- Litigation experience, preferred
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Excellent attention to detail and proofreading skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal technology platforms
