Legal Assistant - Complaints
About the Role
This position entails managing all administrative tasks associated with the legal process of Georgia judicial foreclosures, including drafting complaints, responding to correspondence, and updating client systems. The role requires substantial coordination with other legal assistants and attorneys in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
Responsibilities
- Consistently and accurately update the firm’s internal case management system, as well as all clients’ systems.
- Provide exceptional customer service to clients at every level of interaction.
- Draft and proofread legal documents as required.
- Support attorneys in a high-volume, time-sensitive atmosphere.
- Provide regular and timely client status updates, as well as continual follow-up on outstanding documents and services.
- Coordinate with title contacts to complete outstanding tasks such as recordings and retrieval of missing documents.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or Associate’s Degree preferred but not required.
- Preferably at least 3 years of relevant work experience, specifically with complaint preparation or title review.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
- Ability to communicate courteously and effectively with borrowers, clients, attorneys, internal employees, and outside parties.
- Ability to work with others in a congenial and team-oriented manner.
- Exceptional organizational skills; ability to multi-task and adapt to continual change.
- High-level proficiency in reading and writing for proofreading and editing purposes.
- Proficiency in MS Office suite and internet research activities.
- Familiarity with case and document management software.
- Experience with client systems such as LoanSphere, Clairfire, Tempo, VendorScape, and others is preferred.
- Good understanding of the legal process surrounding foreclosure preferred.
- Experience with review of title reports and identifying chain of title issues preferred.
- Proficiency in operating computers, fax machines, scanners, photocopiers, typewriters, and telephones.

- Occasionally required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, and stoop, kneel, or crouch.
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision and ability to adjust focus.

Pay
$22.00 per hour.
