Responsibilities
- Edit, proofread, and file pleadings, motions, affidavits, discovery documents, and other legal documents in connection with State and Federal Court litigation matters.
- Draft routine correspondence, cover letters, and other documents.
- Maintain and manage litigation calendars for the team, including court deadlines, discovery cut-offs, scheduling orders, and internal milestones, proactively flagging upcoming deadlines and potential conflicts well in advance.
- Communicate professionally and effectively with attorneys on the team, internal staff, courts, and external parties.
- Maintain and organize electronic and physical files, schedules, and matter-related information, including document management within iManage.
- Support e-discovery workflows, including familiarity with platforms such as Relativity, Nextpoint, and similar e-discovery tools. Experience with document review, production, and related processes is strongly preferred.
- Manage incoming and outgoing communications, including mail, emails, calls, and case-related materials.
- Take a proactive, solutions-oriented approach to daily responsibilities by anticipating attorney and team needs.
- Prioritize multiple tasks and work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced litigation environment.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of relevant experience in a law firm or litigation setting preferred.
- Commercial litigation preferred.
- Experience with New York State and Federal Court filing procedures and rules, including NYSCEF and PACER, strongly preferred.
- High proficiency with Microsoft Word, including features such as Tables of Authorities, Tables of Contents, styles, formatting, cross-references, and track changes.
- High proficiency with Adobe Acrobat, including document assembly, Bates stamping, redaction, OCR, bookmarking, and metadata management.
- Familiarity with e-discovery platforms such as Relativity and Nextpoint, or a demonstrated ability to learn new legal technology tools quickly.
- Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail in all work product, correspondence, and filings.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to draft clear, professional correspondence and documents.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize competing deadlines, work independently, and manage a high-volume workload without impacting quality.

- Ability to communicate professionally with attorneys, internal staff, courts, and external clients.
- Four-year college degree preferred, but not required.
- Ability to work overtime as necessary.
