Legal Assistant
About the Role
Robert Half is partnering with a boutique civil litigation practice to hire a Legal Assistant for a contract-to-hire opportunity. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented legal professional who enjoys supporting attorneys through all phases of litigation, managing case files, coordinating deadlines, and ensuring documents are organized and maintained accurately. The firm has a consistent workflow and is seeking a motivated individual who can provide reliable support while growing into a long-term role.
Responsibilities
- Collect, organize, and maintain legal documents, pleadings, and case files.
- Assist attorneys with drafting routine legal documents, correspondence, and litigation materials.
- Respond to client, court, and third-party inquiries as directed.
- Manage attorney calendars, court dates, and litigation deadlines.
- Track and monitor critical dates to ensure timely completion of filings and other case-related tasks.
- Create, update, and maintain physical and electronic case files.
- Prepare correspondence and assist with general administrative and legal support duties.
- Coordinate with attorneys and staff to ensure cases progress efficiently.
- Provide ongoing litigation support and assist with day-to-day case management activities.
Qualifications
- Prior civil litigation experience required.
- JD preferred but not required.
- Experience working as a Legal Assistant, Litigation Legal Assistant, or in a comparable litigation support role.
- Strong calendaring and deadline management skills.
- Experience maintaining and organizing case files and legal documents.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Ability to prioritize multiple assignments and work independently.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal document management systems.
- Professional, dependable, and interested in a long-term opportunity.
Schedule
This position offers a flexible schedule of approximately 32 hours per week and is fully onsite.
