About the role
Perdue Brandon Fielder Collins & Mott LLP is seeking an experienced Legal Assistant for its Austin office. The firm provides legal services to government entities, including school districts, cities, counties, hospital districts, appraisal districts, and other governmental bodies. With 15 primary offices in Texas and additional satellite locations in Texas, Oklahoma, and Florida, the firm serves clients in nine states. This is a full‑time position with a professional yet casual work environment and a commitment to quality and integrity.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with attorneys on civil litigation cases.
- Draft original answers, discovery requests and responses, motions, and other pleadings as required.
- Calendar trial and pre‑trial deadlines and manage attorney calendars.
- E‑file pleadings with various district courts.
- Coordinate mediations and depositions.
- Perform administrative duties pertaining to cases.
Requirements
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent; some college or a recent graduate of a 2‑year paralegal certificate program is preferred but not required.
- At least 4 years of experience as a legal assistant (not an entry‑level position).
- Outstanding computer skills, including Windows 10, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Experience with e‑file systems.
- Familiarity with DocuWare (helpful, not required) and Clio billing system (helpful, not required).
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and written/verbal communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize, work independently and as part of a team, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail, self‑starter attitude, and excellent critical‑thinking skills.
Physical Requirements
- Regularly required to walk, sit, speak, and hear.
- Must stand, use hands to handle objects, and reach with hands and arms.
- Occasional stooping, kneeling, or crouching may be required.
- Vision requirements include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- May be required to travel by car.

Schedule
37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm.
