Legal Assistant
Job Summary
The Legal Assistant provides critical support to attorneys and senior leaders across Noridian by providing administrative, research and governance support services. This role plays a part in protecting confidential and business-sensitive information and supporting the enterprise's legal and regulatory compliance objectives in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
Essential Functions
- Oversees and coordinates processes related to the origination, review, process flow and ultimate execution of contracts, agreements and similar documents within the enterprise.
- Drafts, reviews, edits, and comments on contracts prior to final attorney review and signoff.
- Performs legal research and provides support to internal attorneys regarding contract or legal issues as requested.
- Captures, retains, and manages all contracts and supporting material as well as maintains overall contract repository and related files.

- Coordinates the appropriate record-keeping and retention of all contracts and supporting material as well as maintains overall contract repository and related files.
- Supports litigation and regulatory matters by organizing case files, managing document review, preparing discovery responses and responding to subpoenas.
- Serves as a liaison between internal and external stakeholders, handling confidential and sensitive material.
- Supports corporate governance matters, including preparation for board and committee meetings and managing corporate registrations.
- Organizes and controls workflow and information in support of executive objectives while ensuring various administrative tasks are performed in an effective and efficient manner.
- Composes, reviews, and proofreads a variety of materials including interoffice communications, presentations, contracts, letters, memoranda, agenda items, and other materials.
- Communicates and coordinates with internal and external stakeholders.
- Manages special projects through completion and participates in cross-functional teams.
- Provides guidance and advice on administrative matters to executives, management, or other staff.
Minimum Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED.
- 3 years of experience in a legal support role in a law firm or within a corporate legal department.
- A strong understanding of legal terminology, procedures, and documentation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, and exercise discretion and good judgment.
- Maintains processes proactively to support timely and efficient task completion.
- Recognizes potential concerns early and communicates them to the appropriate team member for prompt resolution or completion.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in Paralegal or Legal Studies, Business Administration or Healthcare Administration.
- 5 years’ experience as a legal assistant, paralegal, or contract administrator.
- Experience in a government contractor and/or healthcare environment.
- Familiarity with federal and state regulatory frameworks.
- Proficiency in e-discovery tools (e.g., Microsoft Purview, eDiscovery, Relativity).
- Strong Understanding of the Electronic Discovery Reference Manual (EDRM).
- Familiarity with Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, data privacy laws, and litigation procedures.

Salary Range
The pay range for this position is $26.53 – $33.16 / hourly, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
