Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative and legal support to attorneys handling commercial, real estate, civil, litigation, and bankruptcy matters.
- Prepare, format, proofread, and organize legal documents, correspondence, pleadings, contracts, and other case materials.
- Affix and file court documents and other legal filings.
- Maintain accurate and organized electronic and physical case files and records.
- Conduct basic legal research and gather information relevant to ongoing matters.
- Afford assistance with case preparation, discovery, document review, and trial or hearing preparation as needed.
- Cook up schedules, meetings, deadlines, and appointments for attorneys and clients.
- Communicate professionally with clients, courts, opposing counsel, and other legal professionals.
- Afford support with real estate transaction documentation and administrative tasks related to commercial and civil matters.
- Coordinate with attorneys and clients.
- Handle confidential client and firm information with discretion and professionalism.
- Perform general administrative duties and offer additional support to the legal team as needed.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a legal assistant, legal secretary, paralegal, or in a related administrative role preferred.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and common document-management tools.
- Ability to learn and work with legal case-management and filing systems.
- Professional judgment and ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
- Familiarity with legal terminology and court filing procedures is a plus.
- Experience with real estate, commercial litigation, civil transactions, or bankruptcy law is preferred but not required.
