Adams & Martin Group is seeking a Legal Assistant to join a reputable law firm in Minneapolis supporting their Personal Injury practice group. This is a direct hire opportunity with an onsite. The Legal Assistant's responsibilities include: Provides skilled, proactive support to assigned personal injury attorneys, and others, as neededPrepares and reviews legal documents, correspondence, medical record requests, settlement packages, and other case-related materials according to firm standards using word processing and document management systemsAccurately proofreads and edits documentsIndependently performs administrative duties such as managing attorney schedules and calendars; coordinating client appointments; maintaining case files; processing incoming and outgoing correspondence; tracking deadlines; and other related tasksFiles documents with state and federal courts and assists with service of legal documents as requiredSupports the billing process and assists with case expense trackingCreates, maintains, and closes client files in accordance with firm policies and proceduresReviews attorney emails and saves correspondence and documents to the appropriate client file as requestedRequests, organizes, and maintains medical records, accident reports, insurance information, and other case-related documentationExhibits outstanding client service orientation in greeting guests, scheduling meetings, and communicating with clients, medical providers, insurance adjusters, and other partiesDisplays strong attention to detailResponds to requests with a sense of urgency and effectively prioritizes work in a fast-paced environmentDemonstrates flexibility and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlinesMaintains confidentiality of client matters and sensitive informationClearly communicates in a concise, professional manner Qualifications: 2+ years of legal assistant experience strongly preferred; personal injury experience is a plusProficient command of the English language and standard grammar rulesStrong working knowledge of and experience using Microsoft Office programs; desire to maintain and upgrade technical skills and learn new softwareExperience managing high-volume case files and coordinating with clients, medical providers, and insurance carriers preferredExcellent organizational, communication, and multitasking skills All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, national origin, age, ancestry, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, marital status, disability, medical condition, genetic information, pregnancy, or military or veteran status.
