Role Overview
Goldman Sachs is a leading investor in alternatives globally, managing approximately $540 billion in assets and boasting over 30 years of experience. The Asset & Wealth Management (AWM) Real Estate team seeks an experienced real estate transaction attorney to support their operations.
Responsibilities
- Advising on the structuring, negotiation and execution of debt and equity real estate transactions, considering legal, regulatory, reputational and compliance issues
- Supporting ongoing asset management
- Managing outside counsel and overseeing legal due diligence
- Handling transaction-related fund and fiduciary issues
- Coordinating with other GS control-side areas
Qualifications
- 5-7 years’ relevant experience working in a leading law firm, financial institution or institutional real estate company
- Significant experience with the negotiation and preparation of real estate transactional documentation (term sheets, acquisition, disposition, leasing, development, construction, financing, etc.) and joint venture agreements
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage several simultaneous projects under deadlines
- Excellent interpersonal and oral and written communication skills; ability to clearly articulate ideas and develop stakeholder relationships
- Team-oriented with ability to respond and be flexible to client demands while adhering to firm policies and group practices
- High level of initiative, integrity, and organization
