About the role
The Legal Applications Specialist works with the IT department, practice section management, and other key personnel to evaluate application programs and ensure they meet user and business needs. They create and maintain the Firm's automated templates, administer, support, and improve case management and docketing systems, and identify workflow improvements within practice sections.

Requirements
- A strong understanding of legal practice areas and procedures
- A general understanding of data management and information technology
- A general understanding of business process management and workflow design
- The ability to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience
- Expert level skills in MS Word
- Proficiency in MS Office with advanced skills in MS Word
- Experience of 3-5 years in a similar role or 3-5 years of experience as a paralegal/legal practice supporting role with expertise in legal software systems
- One to two years of programming experience or experience using a low-code platform
Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in information systems or an associate's degree in paralegal technology preferred
- A strong paralegal or legal assistant with expertise in their legal practice and a proven ability to leverage technology can substitute for some of the technical requirements, but technical training will be required
Skills
- Strong understanding of how legal practice areas function
- Good working knowledge of legal procedures
- General understanding of Artificial Intelligence and AI models
- General understanding of business process management and workflow design
- The ability to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience
- Proficiency in MS Office with expert level skills in MS Word
- Experience of 3-5 years in a similar role or 3-5 years of experience as a paralegal/legal practice supporting role with demonstrated expertise in legal software systems
- One to two years of programming experience or experience using a low-code platform
