Leeville - Underground Miner I (Tech 3 or Higher)

We are looking for an Underground Miner I Tech 3 or higher to join our Underground Operations teams at Nevada Gold Mines. Responsibilities

• Safely operate various pieces of hand, powered, or mobile equipment to meet site production goals.
• Perform pre-operational inspections on all pieces of equipment and machinery prior to use.
• Comply with Loss Control (HSLP), Environmental, and NGM policies and procedures.
• Comply with state and federal health and safety regulations.
• Demonstrate proficiency in at least 8 of the following 11 skills, with Haul Truck Operation and Utilities being mandatory:
  • Haul Truck Operation
    • Perform a proper heading inspection.
    • Conduct pre-operational checks.
    • Suppress airborne dust as required.
    • Receive muck in a safe and efficient manner.
    • Demonstrate knowledge of safe ramp travel with regards to traffic and pedestrians.
    • Dump muck in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Conveyor Operation
    • Perform a proper heading inspection.
    • Conduct pre-operational checks.
    • Follow the required lock-out/tag-out procedure.
    • Identify worn or defective components.
    • Demonstrate knowledge of required PPE for all aspects of the task.
    • Monitor conveyor while in operation.
    • Clear plugged chutes in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Slickline (optional)
    • Perform a proper workplace inspection.
    • Conduct pre-operational checks.
    • Demonstrate safe start-up of the slickline.
    • Demonstrate knowledge of the lock-out/tag-out procedure.
    • Secure and properly place the mixer truck.
    • Recognize workplace hazards.
    • Shut down, wash out, and clean up slickline safely.
  • Backfilling
  • Rockbreaker (Leeville only, optional)
  • Backfill mixing (Chukar only)
  • Water Truck Operation
  • Dewatering – sumps/pumps operation
  • Wash Bay Operation
  • Utilities (mandatory)
  • Nipper

Requirements

• Compliance with state and federal health and safety regulations.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Strong work practices.
• The ability to work a rotating schedule of nights and days is an essential function of this role.
