About the role

In this issue of Øjensynligt, we focus on the challenges that people with visual impairments face when seeking employment. Their job search is characterized by barriers both internally and externally, and research shows that the lack of knowledge among all involved parties is the root cause.

Responsibilities

Even though parents of children and young people with visual impairments do not need to attend job interviews or their workplace, we play an important role. Believing in one's ability to succeed grows from experiences of success that teach children and young people to recognize and overcome challenges and see their strengths. This is an essential ingredient in building self-confidence and a human and professional CV. For example, learning to find your way around school independently, using assistive devices during lessons, trying out abilities at home, selling flowers from the garden, or participating in internships.

Qualifications

LFBS' journey to Hurdal in Norway, where children and adults with visual impairments and their caregivers filled the tank with the ability to master life, is just one example of how people with visual impairments can achieve their goals.

Skills

Misbah, Line, and Kim found ways to get a job, a flexible job, and even started their own business. These stories illustrate the potential and possibilities for individuals with visual impairments to succeed in various fields.

Benefits

LFBS' trip to Hurdal in Norway highlights the positive impact of community support and empowerment for individuals with visual impairments and their families. It also emphasizes the importance of overcoming challenges and seeing one's strengths.

Pay

The pay structure for individuals with visual impairments varies depending on their skills, experience, and the type of work they are employed in. LFBS does not provide specific details about pay but encourages its members to seek fair compensation based on their qualifications and contributions.

Schedule

LFBS operates on a flexible schedule to accommodate the needs of its members, including those with visual impairments. The organization provides resources and support to help its members achieve their goals and integrate into society.
