About the role
The Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Systems role involves contributing to the advancement of research and education in modern computing systems. You will conduct research in areas such as operating systems, distributed systems, system security, and systems for AI, and help shape the next generation of computing professionals.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to high-impact research outcomes and the School’s growing research profile.
- Deliver high-quality teaching and support student learning across undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
- Develop scalable, secure, and high-performance computing systems.
- Collaborate with industry partners and contribute to collaborative research initiatives.
Requirements
- A PhD in a related discipline, and/or relevant work experience.
- Proven commitment to staying updated with discipline knowledge and developments.
- Demonstrated experience in teaching and learning design, development, and delivery at various levels.
- Experience using and/or designing with educational technologies and online delivery methods.
- Evidence of teaching effectiveness and passion for educational excellence.
- Demonstrated success in initiating curriculum development and improvement.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team, collaborate across disciplines, and build effective relationships.
- Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities and commitment to relevant training.
Qualifications
- A PhD in a related discipline, and/or relevant work experience.

- Demonstrated experience in teaching and learning design using a range of pedagogical approaches.
- Experience of implementing educational technologies and online delivery methods.
- Evidence of teaching effectiveness and passion for educational excellence and fostering this in others.
- Demonstrated success in initiating curriculum development and improvement.
- Demonstrated experience with industry or work-integrated learning.
- Demonstrated ability to support and inspire students from diverse backgrounds and support student equity, diversity, and inclusion initiatives.
- Demonstrated track record in research with outcomes of high quality and high impact.
- Experience in recruiting and supervising high-calibre students.
- An understanding of and commitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives, and values.
Skills

Pay
Lecturer (Level B): AUD $127,947 to $150,830 per annum + 17% superannuation
Senior Lecturer (Level C): AUD $155,403 to $178,290 per annum + 17% superannuation
